WHAT CAN BE TREATED ?

Musculoskeletal injuries such as:-

Backpain e.g. sore backs, sacroiliac strain, kissing spine, trauma

Muscles, tendons and ligaments

Recovery from lameness

Fractures e.g. splints, pelvic

Rehabilitation following surgery and return to fitness plans

OR an enjoyable massage to pamper your beloved pet to aid comfort and wellbeing

 

ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT PLAN

Following veterinary referral a thorough case history is obtained followed by a robust assessment which includes observation of movement in hand, lunging or longlining and ridden as necessary. Saddle fit can be assessed and recommendation to The Society of Master Saddlers trained fitter for full assessment and review of saddle fit.as required. A hands on examination will be performed.      ( Approximate assessment and treatment time 1 hour 30 minutes)

 Following initial treatment which may include massage techniques, stretches, and on occasions modalities such as Ultrasound, Pulse Electromagnetic Flow (PEMF), Electrostimulation, Laser and Kinesiology Equine Taping, Theraband may be combined with other modalities. This normally requires participation in the following weeks from the owner/groom.  It is important to follow the treatment plan so that your horse will gain the maximum from the visit gaining in strength, improved flexibility, balance and endurance.  A dedicated physiotherapy helpline is provided as well as written guidelines that can be referred to between visits.  The referring Veterinary Surgeon will be updated regularly and the equine is always referred back if any concerns are highlighted during the rehabilitation process.
